The end result of this recipe is not actually
seasoned sour cream, but more so some killer chips and salsa or nachos
or even potato wedges or french fries.
The Seasoned Sour Cream
elevates all of those side dishes and appetizers that little extra step
and all it takes is 5 quick minutes to whip together. Now, I don't know
that I would recommend the plating shown in the pictures above, unless
you know that they are all going to be eaten quickly. Those chips can
get soggy and full of salsa.
My desire to present something pretty got
the better of me when a chip fell apart in my lap. Oh well...the taste
of all the others I ate more than made up for it.
Seasoned Sour Cream
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp dried cilantro
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp onion powder
Preparation:
- Mix everything in a bowl until evenly distributed. Let sit for at least a half hour in the fridge before serving.
- Refrigerate until used. Keeps up to 1-2 weeks or expiration date of sour cream, which ever comes first.
***Other options could be to serve with tacos or fajitas. You can also add 2 Tbls chopped green chili peppers to the dish to add more heat. The best part about this is that you can make this dish your own...so, be creative and, as always...
Happy Experimenting!!!
